AVILYTICS Webinar Recap: Q&A and Industry Insights
Following our recent webinar on the AVILYTICS platform, we are excited to share key insights and discussions that emerged from the session. The attendees' questions reveal the priorities in the aviation maintenance industry and draw attention to the growing concern around analytics and its ability to improve reliability and efficiency.
Understanding AVILYTICS: Enhancing Aircraft Maintenance and Reliability
Our experts gave a thorough overview of the AVILYTICS platform during the webinar, highlighting its potential to improve fleet reliability and optimize maintenance operations. Here’s a closer look at some of the main features discussed:
Reliability Reporting. AVILYTICS’s streamlines the process of generating detailed and customizable monthly fleet reliability reports for airlines and aircraft operators. With just one click, users can create these essential reports, which play a crucial role in maintaining airworthiness and ensuring peak fleet performance.
Reliability Analysis. Utilizing data-driven insights, AVILYTICS offers aircraft operators comprehensive tools to monitor and improve fleet reliability. It tracks performance, identifies possible problems, and puts preventive measures in place to guarantee the best possible availability and reliability of aircraft and their components.
Supply Chain Analytics. This module optimizes supply chain processes by providing detailed tracking of inventory movement, which helps identify trends and optimize stock levels. By guiding decisions on material lifecycles, it reduces unnecessary inventory costs and minimizes overstocking and stockouts, resulting in a more efficient and cost-effective supply chain.
Maintenance Analytics. Maintenance Analytics in AVILYTICS identifies areas for improvement within maintenance operations by tracking performance metrics and conducting detailed root-cause analyses. Highlights inefficiencies and procedural bottlenecks, helping to ensure efficient and effective maintenance operations and preventing late returns of aircraft from maintenance.
AOG Risk Prediction. Focused on providing critical information about the risk of aircraft grounding due to component failures. Utilizing advanced data analytics and statistical modelling enables operators to proactively manage and mitigate AOG risks, ensuring higher fleet availability and operational efficiency.
Developer. The Developer module empowers users to create custom dashboards, widgets, and reports tailored to specific operational needs. This flexible and user-friendly environment allows aircraft operators to fully leverage their data, offering powerful tools to visualize and analyze information according to their unique requirements.
Webinar Highlights: Live Demonstrations and Key Features
The webinar featured live demonstrations of AVILYTICS, showcasing its capabilities in reliability reporting and maintenance program effectiveness. We gave detailed demonstrations of the following key functions:
Reliability Reporting: AVILYTICS’s module empowers airlines to generate detailed monthly technical fleet reliability reports, crucial for maintaining airworthiness and ensuring fleet performance.
Maintenance Program Effectiveness: Intuitive dashboards reveal how scheduled maintenance compares to unscheduled tasks, identifying opportunities for optimization.
Work Package Ground Time: A new feature that analyzes past maintenance slots to predict ground time and manpower mismatches, ensuring efficient resource allocation.
Onboarding and Integration
We demonstrated the AVILYTICS onboarding process and how it will integrate with current operations to produce results right away. AVILYTICS's seamless data integration and improved functionality are guaranteed by its compatibility with the main MRO software systems.
Q&A Session Highlights
Q: After uploading the data, will we be able to clear or amend the data on the system?
A: AVILYTICS’s data ingestion pipelines can identify inconsistencies and generate exception reports when loading data. If a data discrepancy is detected, it is recommended to review and correct the source data before re-uploading it to AVILYTICS. In cases where source correction is not possible, AVILYTICS allows for data modification within the platform, with changes marked as 'modified.'
Q: Will we be able to create different report designs? For example, we are developing various types of reliability reports, not just the monthly ones. Is this possible?
A: Customized report designs can be created within AVILYTICS. The main dashboards are generic across all customers, but custom dashboards can be developed for each client using the AVILYTICS developer license, which allows users to create their own widgets and dashboards.
Q: Are you using any ML model to estimate the total turnaround time of a work package?
A: Yes, AVILYTICS utilizes machine learning models for its predictions. These models use feature importance to make decisions, providing insights into work package turnaround times.
Q: Can we add alert levels for PIREP, MAREP, and CAREP trends?
A: Yes, alerts on PIREPs, MAREPs, and CABIN defects can be set based on either a static value per ATA system or a moving average control limit, covering periods of 3, 12, or 24 months.
Q: What are the benefits of this interface compared to the reports that the main MIS software would offer?
A: Unlike many MIS systems that require manual data export and manipulation for analytics, AVILYTICS automates the entire process. This automation provides more effective analysis by eliminating manual data handling and offering seamless integration and reporting.
Q: How is the collection of fleet-wide issues done, and how do you get the information?
A: AVILYTICS collects fleet-wide issues based on metrics from the operator's fleet. If global fleet data from OEMs is required, operators can provide these metrics, which are then added as static thresholds in TDR graphs for comprehensive analysis.
Q: For comparisons between actual and real workload, how is data retrieved from external/subcontracted MROs?
A: Data retrieval from external MROs depends on agreements between operators and MROs. While operators can track estimated task requirements, MROs may not share actual working times. AVILYTICS can measure overall work package turnaround time (based on start and end date/time) but may lack detailed task-based insights if such data is not provided by the MROs.
Q: Can AVILYTICS use AMOS as a data source?
A: Yes, AVILYTICS integrates effectively with AMOS and is currently used in production by several airlines, such as Norse Atlantic Airways, Air Arabia, and Gulf Helicopters.
Q: How is data sanitization managed?
A: Data sanitization in AVILYTICS is managed through exception reports generated in every data pipeline. These reports highlight suspicious data based on established validation rules, enabling operators to address and improve data accuracy.
Q: Looking to gain more insight into predictive analysis using EXSYN.
A: AVILYTICS includes predictive analysis capabilities such as work package ground time predictions and AOG risk monitoring, which assesses the probability of failure for MEL-critical components.
Q: Does AVILYTICS have the ability to capture data inconsistencies or errors and flag them to operators?
A: Yes, AVILYTICS employs exception reports in its data pipelines to identify and report data inconsistencies, which are flagged to operators for resolution.
Q: How does AVILYTICS determine the threshold for part number removal rates to generate an alert? Is this threshold static or dynamic?
A: AVILYTICS can set alert thresholds for part number removal rates as either static figures or moving control limits, adaptable over 3, 12, or 24 months, depending on operational needs.
These discussions provided deeper insights into how AVILYTICS empowers operators to optimize maintenance operations, enhance reliability, and streamline processes through advanced analytics and automation.
