Aircraft Phase-in at Level

Situation

In the wake of the Air Berlin insolvency, many things happened. One of these being the incorporation of a new low costs airlines operating out of Vienna, Austria. LEVEL Airlines, the latest addition to the IAG group, was born. Albeit the fact that two A330 were already operating under the LEVEL brand (managed by Iberia) this situation was completely new as the airline was set to operate under its own AOC and CAMO approval. However, with no software in place to manage the airworthiness of its to be inducted fleet things could rapidly spiral into a complex situation for managing the airworthiness and maintenance of the fleet.

Solution

Late April 2018, EXSYN and LEVEL embarked on a mutual journey to start a rapid and lean implementation of the AMOS MRO software chosen by LEVEL. As time was critical all available means from both sides needed to be mobilized. As such the combination of detailed technical knowledge from LEVEL’s engineering staff, EXSYN’s data migration solution NEXUS and available industry data within EXSYN were mobilised in order to ensure a timely and adequate go-live of the system. In this process efficient streamlined cooperation with multiple other stakeholders was required, such as sister airline Vueling in Spain and Swiss Aviation Software.

On the 17th of July the OE-LCN, after all its airworthiness data being inducted into the newly implemented MRO software by means of EXSYN’s NEXUS solution, had its first successful commercial flight. This was rapidly followed by another 3 Airbus 321 aircraft that all were inducted into the system to ensure timely readiness for operation. After the initial setup and induction has been completed, the focus will shift towards supporting the growth of the airline and continued improvement of the aircraft data setup to gain even more efficiencies.
